Do we have ANY thumbs up on this ?

Hey wouldn't that make a person more compatible together when one of their bellybutton fits inside the other's!

All this bellybutton talk made me think of a joke:

Why did the blonde have a black and blue bellybutton?

Her boyfriend was a blonde, too.

I don't see anything good coming from this, its bad enough that most of our food is processed and that processing causes other issues like cancer.

I just do not see anything good coming from this, if they do. I'll start keeping my own chickens :1orglaugh

One has to to appreciate the surreptitious method in which "they" use, we, the consumer(s) as their test dummies. This has the potential to become the most effective medium in which a random, unknowing, extended - expendable population, reward this earth a more sustainable, environmentally friendly population count  . . . Is that a stretch ? :1orglaugh

Really now ! What exists today are 3 schools of thought -

The Pro - Antibiotic(s), Chemical(s) and Hormone(s)

The Pro - clone

The Pro - "All Natural - No Preservatives"
* "all natural" - If it means anything specific, in the first place *

How many, within our 3 study groups, actually know for certain which way is up ^ ?

:dunno: :(

there's enough crap thrown into our food already, so i don't see this being that bad. I say give it a shot!

I guess I'd have to ask...what are the benefits of raising and slaughtering cloned animals vs real ones? All I can see is it would be significiantly more expensive than real animals due to the process it has to go through to be cloned in the first place.

Do they think people will have less objections to how cloned animals are raised for slaughter than real animals?

i think, once the cloned embryos are developed, the cost will be the same. i think artificial insemination is an industry standard now, so they just load the turkey-baster with the new stuff and go at it. transgenic cows that produce meat and milk fortified with vitamins and minerals, or vaccines, or a more asthetically pleasing color, or chicken wings.

delicious.

I think it is a genetically engineered better version they are going for.One that yields greater and better food supply than just the natural way.I think ultimately that is a cost savings.Otherwise what would be the point to it.

Maybe the thing to do is demand that this sort of 'crap' is removed from our food altogether then. It's perfectly possible to feed the world's population and ensure we lead healthy lives without the need for tampering with livestock -- whether that means pumping these poor battery chickens full of so many weird hormones that they mature within 38 days* or designing these uber-cows when normal cattle is perfectly fine for us, so long as we eat responsibly.

*Brits are probably aware that Jamie Oliver's campaigning on this very issue at the moment. Apparently, his show on Friday will be an attempt to shock viewers into changing the way they spend their money, by showing just what sort of conditions these animals have to endure through their short miserable lives, right up to the end, by showing the manner of the slaughter.
